  • Music: Internet Jukebox
  • Best Nights: Fri, Sat
  • Has TV: Yes
  • Smoking: Outside/No Drinks
  • Alcohol: Beer & Wine Only

The Bar: Outside-Tucked in the industrial district or Garden Grove. Small little red building with a couple of tables out front. Industrial buildings on both sides. Inside- Small bar, guessing a capacity of around 30-40. The bar is setup in an L shape with some additional seating around the sides. The bar serves beer and wine only, but as always, we'd like to mention they serve tall cans of PBR.
The Crowd: Mostly men, it's a bikini bar, and it's in the industrial district. We can guess that the patrons probably work close by and populate this bar. They patrons are more than friendly in this local dive. Very talkative and all having a good time.
Service: Service was great. We were greeted by the owner and the first round was on her.
Prices:Prices were somewhat reasonable. Domestic pitchers were not as cheap as we are used to. $11.00 for a domestic.
Entertainment: A ton of TV's,  and 1 Pool table. Internet Jukebox.
Restroom: Fairly clean. Most all the graffiti is done with chalk. We assume it's allowed because it is everywhere! It seems people would rather erase chalk with water to write, but whatever, it was neat.
Bartender Chat: Not much, she posed for a picture holding our two cans of PBR, but she was quite busy with the main bar patrons.
Closing statement:  We had a ton of fun, and our friends did too! Thank you very much to all the owners, employees, and patrons of Henry's.
Also, after the jump, if you scroll down far enough, there is photographic evidence of one of our team's humanity before closing out our night at Paul's Cocktails.

  • Music: Internet Jukebox
  • Best Nights: Fri, Sat
  • Has TV: Yes
  • Smoking: Outside/No Drinks
  • Alcohol: Full Bar

The Bar: Considering that this bar has just been made over for the Bar Rescue television program, it should have been hopping. It was not. As for looks, it looks great. The new re-model as really changed this place. Back it the day it was a shit hole. Fights almost every night. Now, it's quite nice. We strongly recommend walking or taking a cab here as there is only one blind exit out of the pit. If you drive, you are sure to be caught by OPD. Park around the corner at Chasers and walk over.
The Crowd: Sadly, none. It was a ghost town. Maybe a dozen patrons were there, max.
Service: Quick. Served within 5 seconds of being there.
Prices: Drinks were strong and relatively cheap. Domestic pitcher will run you about $9
Entertainment: 5 TV's, 3 pool tables, 1 air hockey table, and various video games throughout. Internet Jukebox.
Restroom: Relatively clean, pretty sure they were not in the make over though.
Bartender Chat: The bartender, Stephanie, was awesome and super hot. She also works at the Cherry Pit.
Closing statement:So folks, let me say this. This place looks great, has at least one super bartender, and good prices. That's your cue to go fill the joint!

We rate the O.P. a 3 out of 5.

The Bar: We conquered the pit. The Cherry Pit that is. One word: Amazing. We had a blast. Super friendly staff and patrons. We arrived around 8pm...seemed to be a slow night, but once the Angels game ended, this place was packed. Nice little establishment.

This last week, DiveBar Culture has been in the land of "Hella" northern California. We were there to cover a house party for our sister site You Were Not Invited.com but managed to hit a couple of dive bars too. Not a great turn out either day that we went out, but at least we've finally been out of Orange County.

The Bar: Stockman was a cozy little place with quite the few regulars for a Monday night. Sleek wood bar and wood floors.
The Crowd: The patrons were quite rowdy by the time we arrived and were having a difficulty understanding our concept.
Service: Not the best for a newbie. Waited about 5 minutes at the bar to even get noticed.
Prices:$5 domestic glass. No Pitchers. Shots $5
Entertainment: Couple of pool tables tucked in the next room and a jukebox that seemed to play nothing but oldies.
Restroom: Dirty, smelly, small
Bartender Chat:None, this guy had no interest in us since we were not locals.
Closing statement:  Grabbed just a handful of pictures, mostly of the outside.  Unfortunately we didn't stay long.

Mushroom Lounge, Sacramento, CA

Mushroom Lounge
3637 Southport Drive
Sacramento, CA
(916) 363-0302
  • Price Per Domestic Pitcher: N/A
  • Credit/Debit: Yes
  • Parking: Public Lot
  • Good For Groups:  Yes
  • Music: Internet Jukebox
  • Best Nights: Fri, Sat
  • Has TV: Yes
  • Smoking: Patio with Drinks
  • Alcohol: Full Bar
  • ATM: Yes
The Bar: Cluttered with decor on the walls behind the bar. A gigantic bra. Christmas lights that don't work, dollar bills signed by patrons, mardi gras beads everywhere. There was a fireplace in the middle of the bar, which we can imagine may be hazardous amongst drunks. Large smoking patio which allowed drinks, but was very bright, almost like sitting in a hospital waiting room. Unfortunately they don't have draft or PBR, but not everyone can be perfect.
The Crowd: None, just some local friends who lived up there and showed me around.
Service: Great. We were the only ones in the whole place. We had the bartenders undivided attention.
Prices: Cheap. Wasted on $25.00
Entertainment: Few TV's, 2 pool tables, electronic dart board, various video games. Internet Jukebox.
Restroom: The bathroom, makes you wanna puke, which I am sure has happened in there many of times.
Bartender Chat: The bartender was cool and was all about us promoting there place.
Closing statement: Overall great little dive. Cheap drinks, stiff pour and chill crowd for what was there on a Tuesday night.

We rate Mushroom a 4 out of 5.
