The journey tonight was a great one. Left the house in Long Beach around 6:30pm on our adventure, which I had no idea of the adventure it was going to be. A cab, a light rail and a subway trip later, we finally arrived at our destination... The world famous Frolic Room of Hollywood.

The Outside: Located on the Walk of Fame, lies Hollywoodland's oldest dive bar. Opening their doors sometime in the 1930's, this bar originally joined the area as a rumored speakeasy for Pantages Theater actors, as prohibition was in full effect.
Upon entering this bar, you will notice the unique neon sign out front, and a bouncer, who, from a far, does not look too friendly (he is totally cool), and the star of Gary Cooper.
The Inside: A long narrow bar, with very unique lighting. On the right, the wall is covered with cartoon drawings of famous celebrities throughout time, to the left, the wall had several autographed photos from celebrities who found themselves grabbing a drink in this iconic bar.
The Crowd: This varies night to night depending on the type of show happening at the Pantages Theater. Tonight we got there during a show to find your average locals including a guy with a 2' mohawk and some out-of-country tourists. After the show, the crowd became over-dressed and unimpressed. Nothing to complain about really, everyone was cool here, and we had an absolute blast.
Service: Us being new, and the place sorta crowded, this took a few minutes. The bounce outside told us, whatever drink we want, these bartenders could make. Bob started with an Bloody Mary, one of the best we've had, a couple of Old Fashioned's, a Manhattan, some shots of Fireball, and a handful of beers. We attempted to stump the bartender with a Mint Julep, which he was unable to make due to not having fresh mint, but assured us, he could make anything we ordered given he had all the ingredients.
Prices: Amazingly cheap considering the location. $3.75 bottles of Coors Light, $5.50 Bloody Mary. $5 Fireball. No pitchers and no PBR.
Entertainment: Internet Jukebox, which surprisingly was not TouchTunes, 3 TV's, and an old school cigarette machine.
Restroom: Single occupant, with a door monitor the entire night. Not sure what that is all about. If the door is locked, clearly it's occupied. Overall, clean(ish). Could use a power wash perhaps, but it wasn't terrible, especially considering the about of traffic this place sees on a daily basis.
Closing statement: Love this place, great atmosphere inside and out. Parking is kinda a bitch, so if you have the, take a subway to the Hollywood/Vine station and the bar is right across the street.
If you are in Hollywood, you MUST stop in, I assure you, you will not be disappointed.
Also, the bouncers here are a plethora of information. Have a question about anything Hollywood, they have the answer.
We rate Frolic a 5 out of 5.
